The First Bloom
The bud awakens at dawn,
Kissed by sunlight,
The frot has vanished,
Petals stretch around the centre,
It’s colourful and bright.
A whispered delight.
From the soiled Earth,
A new hope arises,
The breeze hums softly,
The gardens cheer,
The blossom reminds us,
That joy is near.
The blossom smiles up at us,
It is singing, so soft and true,
Happiness begins now, with something new,
It swayed to its tune,
Shimmering under the moon,
A simple flower but it knew
That joy awakened in every drop of dew.
