Earthquakes are a very common natural disaster in Nepal. They happen quickly and unexpectedly. They can also cause a lot of damage. Sometimes, earthquakes can destroy big buildings and injure or even kill people. In 2015, there was a very deadly earthquake in Nepal. It caused over 9000 deaths and 22,000 people were injured. It caused an avalanche on Mount Everest that resulted in the death of 19 climbers. There was also a lot of damage in the neighbouring countries such as China, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan.

Precautions we need to follow to be safe in an earthquake:

1. Get under a bench table etc.

2 If you're outside, stay in an open place.

3 Don't stay near trees.

4 Don't stay near houses or buildings.
