In the 1800s a civil war took place in America because of slavery and injustice. Thousands of people died and millions were injured during the war. Because of the war, the new word racism was added to the dictionary. The war was very big at first the American people were told that slavery should be banned but it was not the truth. The South Americans' economy was very good because of the slaves who work for free so they made a law that nobody would be a slave. So they waged war at last and the North Americans won and slavery was banned.
