Waterfall
Waterfall is a sudden and unsupported descent form of water from a river or a stream that falls into a river beneath. It is mostly formed in a rocky area. It can also form over the edge of a tabular iceberg or ice shelf. Due to its strong current, it is harnessed to generate hydroelectric power. It has also been an attraction for explorers, tourists, artists, and filmmakers. Block, cataract, horsetail, plunge, and plunge bowl are the types of waterfalls.
The Block waterfall, with its rectangular shape, cascades from a vast stream and river. Cataract Falls is a very powerful and large waterfall. Horsetail stays in contact with the bedrock. It creates a long and thin shape that resembles the tail of a horse. Plunge loses contact with the bedrock, and water falls vertically. Below the waterfall, there is the plunge pool.
