There are many types of birds and all the birds are vertebrates. Birds are covered with feathers and some birds can fly and some cannot. They have very light bones in their body and instead of teeth, they have hornlike beaks or bills. Birds have powerful wings, hollow bones and a strong heart. The characteristics of birds are – feather, wings, beak, etc. Research shows that there are 400 billion birds in the world.

The North African ostrich is the biggest and Bee Hummingbird is the smallest. Some of the birds live in nests and some birds don't. Birds can make their own house. Similarly, the falcons can fly very fast.
