Bhai Tika
Bhai tika is celebrated on the fifth day of Tihar. This day celebrates the special bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, the sisters perform puja by applying seven colours of tika to their brothers foreheads. Sisters pray for the long lives of their brothers and even thank them for the protection that they provide. A special Makhamali garland is offered along with selroti, sweets, fruits, a packet of dry fruits, and gifts to their brothers. In return, sisters also receive sagun and gifts from their brothers. This festival makes the bond between sisters and brothers stronger.
