“Man’s searching for meaning” is an English book written by Victor Frank, about his experiences during the World War , one of the tragic and drastic moments which has been able to earn a spot for itself in the history of the world. Mr. Victor Frank wrote this book in 1946 while describing his life living as one of the inmates or the “captured one” during the world war.

The plot of this book can be divided into 3 parts. First is where Mr Frank arrives at the concentration camp. Situations deadly outside. But the situation inside the camp would be indescribable. Every person present there was looking for survival. Forced to work, starve and work again. It was deadly. It was so deadly that the only way of escaping the concentration camp was suiciding. It was depressing too. 100’s and 100’s of bodies scattered through the camp, yet no one reacted, no one shouted. They were used to this sort of mental tragedy. As if this wasn’t already enough, cannibalism was present in the camp too. The prisoner had to stay aware. They had already seen a lot. They were ready too since in the prisoners mindsets, they would always think that they would be the ones who would die the next. They faced death everyday. Yet, as some days passed, the prisoner had seemed to “accept” their fate. Instead of just lurking around, thinking about death, death and DEATH, they seemed to focus on nature too. Viewing the calm nature was an alternative for entertainment. The beautiful nature, the one which helped those prisoners escape from the deadly life, for at least some moment. Even Mr Frank had avoided or escaped death multiple times in the camp. In the other part, Mr Frank explains about his own technique he had discovered during the times in the camp, He explains about his technique, logotherapy, where humans are mostly attracted to find meaning of something. Soon he started helping the prisoners too. Helping them believe they still had hope, they still wanted to live with his newfound logotherapy.Suffering. He indeed suffered a lot. However , with the positive mindset he had made during that horrific event, he learned that suffering is the greatest way to learn. You fail, You suffer, You come back even stronger. Fine but truthful quote.

However, probably due to the different timelines the event was placed in and this particular book was written. I honestly found some very discreet words. However, due to the understandable plot, I had succeeded in understanding the major plot of the book. Personally, it was a really vast book. But what I loved most about this book was the fact that the author had explained suffering is indeed necessary to grow up in life.
