In the year 2000,  a man ‘John Titor’ introduced himself to the internet as a time traveller from the year 2036. He narrated a rich tale of being sent to 1975 to retrieve an IBM 5100 computer. He claimed to be an American military traveller. The reason John was chosen for this mission was a personal one; his grandfather was the lead engineer of the small team responsible for building the IBM 5100. With some help from his grandfather, John completed his mission and successfully retrieved the computer. On his way back to the future he decided to stop over in the year 2000 to visit his family. Titor made numerous vague and specific predictions. Many people thought that it was just for publicity. When they asked for proof.  He posted photos of a time machine. John Titor remains to be one of the internet’s biggest mysteries.
