A Wonderful Trip to Lumbini
I spent my winter vacation having fun, learning about cultural values, and visiting memorable historical places. We started our journey from Kathmandu on Thursday. After celebrating Maghe Sankranti with my family, we traveled to Bhairahawa and then to Lumbini.
I got the chance to visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, who taught peace, love, and kindness. Lumbini is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I saw many beautiful monasteries built by different countries. We visited the Chinese, Thai, Japanese, French, German, Myanmar, Sri Lankan, and Korean monasteries. These monasteries show friendship among different countries and teach us about peace and harmony.
We also visited the Maya Devi Temple, where Lord Buddha was born. My mother showed me the sacred marker stone that marks the exact birthplace of Buddha. I also saw the pond where Queen Maya Devi is believed to have taken a bath before Buddha was born. The Ashoka Pillar, built long ago by Emperor Ashoka, marks this holy place. The sacred garden was calm and peaceful, perfect for walking and praying.
I really loved visiting Lumbini. It reminds us to be kind, peaceful, and respectful to everyone.
