NINE LIVES
If I had nine lives.
I'd spend the first one out at sea,
A sailor who mastered the untamed monster.
The second life I’d spend drowning,
Letting my lungs fill with water,
Letting the water burn me with its coolness.
The third life I’d be a wanderer,
Roaming deserts, mountains, and valleys,
Finding joy in the journey.
The fourth I’d be confined,
Bound to one place, yearning to roam,
Walls closing in, a captive soul.
My fifth life would be a lover’s tale,
Heart open, unguarded, free.
The sixth life, I’d spend heartbroken,
A heart in pieces, love turned to pain.
The seventh I’d spend crying,
Feeling every pain there ever is,
Letting tears burn my cheeks.
The eighth, I’d not even know what sadness is,
Living a daydream,
Forever in peace.
The ninth, would be my last life,
I’d already experienced love, the feeling of free,
I'd live to see dusk till dawn.
And now it's my end, and I’m ready to depart.
I would leave my last life,
Having seen both pictures,
Seeing things from the same eyes,
But having lenses each time.
Realizing every breath,
Every fall, every rise,
Every smile, every cry,
They all are small pieces
To make up my morals for existence.
