My Short Trip to Hetauda My father and I started our journey from Kathmandu to Hetauda on 2nd April at around 11:00 AM. We traveled by our car and took the Kulekhani Dam road. We had a light meal at home before leaving. I started playing songs in the car after about 30 minutes of the journey. My father and I sang along. We looked out of the window and liked watching the woods and trees go by. We traveled for about two hours and reached Kulekhani. We stopped the car and got out for a short walk. We wanted some fresh air and needed to stretch our legs. We rested for 15 minutes and then continued driving. Our next destination was Deurali. We stopped there for taking some snacks and resting a bit. At 3:30 PM, we reached Bhimphedi. We were relishing the journey since we were watching the road and nature. Finally, at 4:15 PM, we reached Hetauda. The main reason behind our visit to Hetauda was not just fun. I had just finished my final exams of Grade 8, and we needed a break from the pollution of Kathmandu. We also had to visit our relatives who lived there. At the house, my uncle, grandmother, and cousins welcomed us with smiling faces. We went in, freshened up, and talked for a while. Later, we dined, and at night, we went for a short walk around the area. Since we were fatigued from the journey, we retired to bed early that night. The next morning, I woke up around 7:00 AM. I took a shower and went upstairs for breakfast. It was sweltering hot in Hetauda, so I did not feel like consuming anything hot. I had juice, yogurt, and bread. After breakfast, we stayed at home and watched a series on TV. Around noon, we had lunch. After lunch, we decided to visit Makwanpur Gadhi. Five of us visited: me, my father, my cousins, and my uncle. We walked around the Gadi area for an hour or two. After that, we went for a long drive. We heard songs in the car, sang along, and had a blast. We returned home around 6:00 PM. In the night, we had dinner and then remained awake until 1:00 AM, playing cards, laughing, and gossiping with one another. The next day, I woke up a bit late—around 8:30 AM. I started with breakfast, then a bath. After that, we continued watching the series we were watching the night before. We left for the Rapti River after lunch, around 2:00 PM, to while away some time along the riverside. There at the river, my cousins and I played in the water. We splashed water on one another, tossed stones into the river, and made a few funny videos. After some time spent in the water, we came out and drove a long way to Padam Pokhari. On the way, we saw the factories of Shivam Cement, Hetauda Cement, and Gorkha Cement. We stopped at a restaurant and had some snacks that day. After arriving home, we were already full, but anyway, we ate dinner. Like the night before, we again stayed up late, watched a movie, and played the UNO card game. In the morning, I woke up, had breakfast, and took a shower. Then we packed our bags and left Hetauda for Kathmandu. Even though the trip was short, I enjoyed myself with my family. I made many new memories and came to know new people. It was a very refreshing and happy experience for me.
