Lighthouse
A lighthouse is a tall tower with a bright light at the top. They are usually built along the coast or on rocky islands.
Its main job is to guide ships safely through the water and warn sailors about dangerous rocks. The powerful light shines far out into the ocean, especially during dark nights and stormy weather.
In the past, people called lighthouse keepers lived inside the towers. They kept the lights clean and made sure they worked properly. Today, most lighthouses run automatically using modern technology.
Besides helping ships, many lighthouses are popular places to visit because of their history and beautiful views. Lighthouses are special because they protect lives at sea and serve as symbols of safety and hope.
