Adventurous activities are the activities which are exciting and might be risky. They bring us loads of thrills and excitement in a short period of time. Some examples are rafting, bungee jumping, skydiving, climbing, etc. Among these activities, one of the most popular, and the most fun in my opinion is trekking.

Trekking is walking through a long route for multiple days, usually to uphill and mountains. Our country Nepal is one of the most popular destinations for trekking as it has most of the tallest peaks in the world around the Himalayas.

Nowadays, people in Nepal and around the world are all starting to stay indoors a lot where they don’t do much physical activity. The solution can be to go trekking or hiking with some friends you know. Trekking is a tough journey for beginners, so people can slowly work their way up after their first or second trek. Trekking is not filled with only fun and incredible views though, there is a lot of walking and extra routes you’ll have to take. The materials required for trekking are hiking boots, extra clothes which are comfortable and flexible, warm and layered clothing when going uphill, a cap and raincoat to prevent the sun and rain, and some other optional belongings like hiking sticks.

Some fun and easier treks in Nepal can be Mardi Base Camp, Pikey Peak, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and some others. An interesting fact about Pikey Peak is that when you reach one of the highest points where you can see Machhapuchhre and some other mountains, usually in the morning, there is a dog which waits there for tourists who might give it food. It lives in a type of restaurant a few kilometers away from the point, and if it takes a liking to you, it’ll be like a companion or a friend along the journey. It even waits for you along the way and leads to the correct path even after reaching its home. The dog is popular and it's even in some blogs about the place. Even when I went there, I gave the dog some local sweets, not chocolates as they are harmful to dogs, and I ended up being the favorite. It followed me and it sure was a thrill having it rush around and around leading me through the muddy and tree-filled path.

Trekking also helps to calm your mind and help you delve into nature if you are ever stressed. It contains peaceful views, friendly people along the way, and experiences that might last you a lifetime. It’s not about reaching the destination, it’s about the fun you have along the way. I have gone trekking twice already; one when I was 10 years old where I reached Mardi Base Camp, and the second time when I was 11 years old and climbed Pikey Peak. They both had various types of environments in them, with beautiful sky views and many flowers along the way. The locals up there struggle to keep their life together, but are still pure hearted and kind.

Overall, it is a wondrous journey through the almost untouched and pure nature with the beautiful calls of the animals and insects, the skies so clear and beautiful you could get lost in them, along with the hardships of having to walk such a long distance with loads.
