Sithi Nakha
Sithi Nakha is celebrated by Newars. They do puja and enjoy the festival. It is also known as Diwali. Every group of people has their own place to celebrate such as Bhandarkhal, Bankali and so on. This festival is very important for Newars. All of our family members gather and we slaughter goat. On this day, we cook a variety of food, play, dance, sing and have a lot of fun. We follow many rituals like: we cannot get up after eating when our elders are still eating, distribute parts of goats from elder to younger. In the evening, we return home and do puja and eat and then go back to our respective houses.
