Leave While You Can
I know it’s disappointment,
I know it’s uncertainty,
I’m unable to portray what I am
And what I seek,
You’re here around, so happy
Sparkling with pride and dignity,
I am sure that I want to
Fill your eyes with tranquility,
It is so absurd,
It is terribly insane,
Unable to voice what I feel
While hurting your small frame,
You wrote me a confession
Filled with love and care,
I avoided your hand,
The touch I never despised
Nor thought was filled with despair,
Shockingly it was something I longed for
A feeling I craved
A feeling equally mutual it could be easily embraced,
But the fear clogged my brain,
Fogged up what I felt,
The future felt like a war,
The weapon seemed to be me
The victim you,
Harming you in any way
Would ruin us,
These feelings,
So how can I stay
When I can leave with only me longing,
While you continue being.
