In The Voice of Isaac Newton
"To the world, I am the man who discovered gravity, but to myself, I am just an ordinary person who was never truly heard.
After my father died, my mother remarried. 'Remarry?' I thought. It happened so soon after his death. I often asked myself why she married again, leaving me in the care of my maternal grandparents. Maybe she wanted to move on, or perhaps she wanted to forget the hardships she had been carrying.
I was always an introvert; I never shared my internal feelings or sufferings with anyone. My grandparents were always there for me, fixing the broken pieces of my spirit. They loved me more than anyone ever could and fulfilled my every need, yet they still couldn't fill the void left by my parents.
The only way to escape my frustration was through reading and experimenting. I preferred being practical. One day, while sitting under an apple tree, an apple fell. It made me wonder: 'Why did that apple fall toward the ground? Why didn't it go up?' This question triggered an obsession that led to my investigation and, finally, my theory of Gravity.
Perhaps if I am reborn, I will finally be heard. Maybe then I will have a happy family, enjoy my childhood in my mother’s lap, and feel the true warmth of a father’s hug."
