During the start of the year 2082, I went to my Mama’s wedding. The wedding started from Baishakh 2nd. In the final week of 2081 we went by bus to Dhangadhi. There we spend time initializing the places and the clothes for the wedding.

To embark on the wedding in a hindu family, the first day was Haldi. That day we went shopping to get some yellow clothes, haldi powder and mehndi. At night at probably 6-7 the programme started with dance and enjoyment, and ended with Haldi and Mehndi programmes.

The second day was the important day of the actual wedding. It was a bright sunny day in the Terai region. In the morning I bathed and wore new clothes for this occasion. At probably 9 in the morning we ate breakfast and the Puja started. After the puja, the janti started towards the temple. We went out and it was so sunny we had to take autos to reach there and then finally the main occasion began. It took nearly 4-5 hours or more and then we walked back and had fun before having dinner.

The last day of the wedding was the party. To celebrate a boy wedding in our culture we usually cut off a goat like we did for the wedding and that's how the wedding was over.
