Betrayed
Betrayed
You smiled and called yourself my friend,
I thought our bond could never end.
We shared our dreams, our hopes, our fears
and walked together through all these years.
But hidden behind your gentle face,
I was quite deceitful, I couldn't trace.
Your words were sweet, but your heart was cold
A painful truth I came to know.
You broke the trust we used to share,
And left behind a silent tear.
Your betrayal made me stong,
And taught me where I truly belong.
I'll keep my heart both kind and wise
No longer fooled by sweet disguise.
Real friends share joy and pain,
They never seek each other to blame.
