Book Review :The Tale Of Despereaux

This book,The Tale Of Despereaux was written by Kate Dicamillo,The InternationalBestselling Author. It is illustrated by Timothy Basil Ering. The Tale Of Despereaux was made into a feature-length film in 2008. This book is the winner of the 2004 Newbery Medal.

Plot

Once upon a time there was a family of mice. The family had only one baby born because many of them were dead. The baby's name was Despereaux. Comparatively to the other mouse, Despereaux had bigger ears. He went to eat the paper by taking small small bites and listened to music and followed it. Following it, he went inside a hole of a wall to another wall, listening to the music and came in king's foot and caught a human princess named Pea touching him and his consequence was to stay in the dungeon. In the dungeon he met a big man named Gregory(the jailer) and when Gregory was listening to the story of Despereaux, the food came and ate his food then wrapped Despereaux in a napkin and sent him to the chef's kitchen. When Despereaux reached there and the cook saw him, she ordered Miggery sow (a years old young child of a father who sold her for a hen,hand full of cigarettes and a red cloth. Her mother died and left with the buyer and her dream of being a princess led her to the castle where her father used to stay at the dungeon and she became the serving maid.) to kill him but she could only cut a tail off him/Despereaux. But anyways Despereaux escaped from there and met his parents. The wish of Mig/Miggery Sow was about to be fulfilled by a rat named Roscuro/Chiaroscuro(a rat born several months after Despereaux). Roscuro was pretty smart and he thought of a way to make Mig a princess by threatening Pea(the princess of the castle and the daughter of the

king).They/Mig and Roscuro were doing it when Despereaux knew it and went to them and saved them.

Recommendation

I recommend that many more of these types of books should come in the future because it is kind of funny,shows treachery and shows the power of love.
