Badminton

Badminton is my favorite sport. But what is badminton? Badminton is a shuttle and racket game played by two players or two teams on a court. This is my favorite game because it was one of the first games I played. When you hit the shuttle, your opponent needs to hit it back to you. If your opponent does not hit the shuttle and it lands on the ground, you get a point, but if your opponent hits it and you don’t, your opponent gets the point. One badminton game is best out of 21 points.

Here are some rules of badminton: a player cannot come to the other player’s side and hit the shuttle. A badminton game starts with a coin toss. When the game is going on, the player should not touch the shuttle or the net with the body. A shuttle is also called a shuttlecock, birdie, or a ball. When a player wins the coin toss, that player gets to serve first.

Badminton was created in India by Britain in 1870. A badminton game is approximately 45 minutes long. Some types of hits in badminton are: serve, shot, and smash. A serve is when the player starts the game with a hit. A shot is when the player hits the shuttle hard onto the other side of the court with speed, and a smash is when the player hits the shuttle hard and fast onto the ground on the opponent’s side. Did you know a badminton player covers over one mile in one match?

When we are playing badminton, we should use feather shuttles because they are recommended by many professional badminton players. That is how much I can explain about badminton for today.
