Courage
Running a race, standing up to a bully, and singing a solo all require courage, but the bravest thing I have ever done was wrapping an anaconda around my neck while I was in Egypt. When the animal handler asked if anyone wanted to try, most people quickly stepped back because they were too scared. I could feel my heart pounding, but I didn’t want to miss the chance. I knew this was something that would take real bravery. Slowly, I walked toward the snake, and the handler gently placed it around my neck. Even though I felt nervous, I stood still and stayed calm.
As the anaconda rested on my shoulders, I started to feel more excited than afraid. Its cool, scaly skin slid against my neck, and I could feel it moving slightly. Everyone around me was staring, cheering, and taking photos, which made me feel really proud of myself. I knew that I had done something that most people there were too afraid to try. Even though the snake was strong and heavy, I stayed brave and smiled the whole time. At that moment, I realized how important it is to face your fears.
Afterwards, I felt a huge sense of pride and happiness. I couldn’t wait to tell my friends and family about what I had done. This experience taught me that courage means doing something even when you are scared. Just like running a race or singing a solo, wrapping that snake around my neck showed me that I can be brave when I put my mind to it. Now, whenever I’m nervous about something, I remember how strong and fearless I felt that day in Egypt.
