THE FROST KING
Angela is the main character in our story, she is seven years old and mind you, besides being seven years old she is extremely smart and is a great artist. Angela lives with her mother in a very small but cozy home. Every night she would sit on the roof with her mother, and she would tell her stories about ancient heroes and villains. One day, “ Mommy? Can you tell me a story again please?” she said to her mother. And her mother would reply with a slight smile. “Okay but only one story today.” Angela replied with a “Yay!” practically jumping from joy. “Ok, this story is called ‘The Frost King’ ," continued the mother.
“Once upon a time, there lived two sisters, the younger sister was named Edith, and she was kind and polite. The older sister was named Agnes. Agnes despised Edith with all her heart! So, one cold night, Agnes kicked Edith out of the house. And Edith was out in the cold shivering because of the snowstorm, but as she went deeper into the storm, she felt her heart getting a little bit warm despite being in the freezing cold. Suddenly Edith felt something grab her by the side, something giant, something cold. It was the Frost King. He talked to Edith in a calm voice. “Dear little girl, are you feeling a bit chilly?” he asked her. “No! Not all sirs!” replied Edith though still freezing. The king wrapped her in his cold hands “Are my hands cold?” he asked her. “No! not at all!” replied the girl feeling her body aching in the cold. “Good.” Replied the King as he showered her in gold and placed her inside her home. Her sister was unsurprisingly very jealous and went outside in the cold where she met frost and his cold hands. “Dear little girl, are you feeling a bit chilly?” he asked her. “Ugh, it’s so cold I can barely breathe! Put me down this instant you monster!” she screamed. Then the King put his hands around the girl, “Are my hands cold?” he asked her. “Get me down, get me down, your hands are freezing cold have you even heard of a fireplace?” She squealed. The king was hurt by this and blew his cold breath on the girl, killing her instantly from the cold.” Said mother concluded the story. “Mommy I want to meet the frost king; I want to meet the frost king! Angela jumped again. “Now, you go to bed and think about him in your dreams? Okay?” mother said, tucking her in. “Okay.” Whispered back as her mother closed the door to her room.
The next morning it was extremely cold, there was frost everywhere and a snowstorm was happening. Little Angela, however, woke up just as the snowstorm reached its peak and started to jump from joy. “Going to look good, for the frost king! Going to be kind to the frost king!” she sang as she wore her best winter dress. “Okay, mommy says that the frost king is very very cold, so I better be careful” she told herself as she opened the door and went outside into the storm. Oh yes, it was cold, it was in fact freezing. But slowly, every step she took she felt a little warmer. It was like a little candle burning closer and closer to her. Then the Frost King picked her up “Are feeling a bit chilly?” he said to the child. Angela was almost laughing as she had been waiting for this exact moment. “No! not at all! King.” The king wrapped his hands around the girl. It was indeed very cold. “No sir! Not at all! How would you even think that!” The girl said she tried her best to be polite. The king was flattered by this and showered her gold jewels and silver jewels as he left her at her home.
She reached home right when her mother came down for breakfast. Her mother gasped “Where did you get all this gold and silver jewelry?” “Mommy, mommy I met the frost king. He gave me all this jewelry, look, it's so pretty!” Angela said jumping and squealing happily, her dream had just come true. Her mother started smiling, “Sure you did.”
