Teej Festival
Teej Festival
Teej is an important festival celebrated by women in Nepal. It is celebrated in the month of Bhadra. During Teej, women worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. A day before Teej, a special programme called Dar is celebrated. On this day, women and their families enjoy lots of delicious food together.
On Teej, women wear beautiful red saris, bangles and ornaments. They visit temples and pray to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. Married women often fast for the well-being and happiness of their husbands and families. They also sing Teej songs and dance together. Teej is a time for women to meet their friends and relatives. It also helps to preserve our culture and traditions.
