Seasonal Change

Every breath you take, every move you make

I admire it cause it’s you

ten steps apart, three steps forward,

Closer than I can ever be to your heart but nothing else that I can do.

Your fingers curved into each crack of my heart and every fold of my brain

There’s no other touch that I crave more than the once you behold

Looking out the window, birds chirping, flowers blooming

The weather seems to be getting warmer, yet my hand and my heart still lay cold.

Starving for years, your love is what I crave

Summer slipping through my fingers, not quite able to grasp it back

And just like every other monsoon, your eyes change

When will this world understand that it's your love that I lack.

Winter’s approaching and this time, it's not just my heart turning cold

Your features are shifting with each tear flowing down my eyes

My hands and limbs feel numb, maybe because of this cruel weather

With every snow coming down the sky, your soul lies.

As I write every syllable, the spring air breezes through my hair

Barely seeing the words I write, as the previous once seem like water droplets

Looking out the window, the leaves changing colors

I know I cannot have you back, yet each second my heart beats for you, this isn’t what it gets.

Does loving someone really have to be this cruel? Why is it that I don't get?

I’ve forgotten the color of your eyes, the size of your nose and the shape of your lips

Yet your love and the feeling of your touch remains,

Cause your soul I’ll protect, even if everything else in this world slips.
