Union International de Pentathlon Modern

UIPM is a sport that stands for ‘Union International de Pentathlon Modern’. It is a sport that consists of five disciplines, and they are Running, shooting, swimming, fencing and horse riding which was turned into a Ninja obstacle course due to animal rights. UIPM is a sport that was invented by the Greeks, during war they had to use all these skills. Running away from their rivals, Using gun shooting skills at them, fencing with swords, swimming through water and having the skills to tame or ride a horse. But, in the modern pentathlon real guns with bullets are dangerous and not used in real life, and can also be dangerous. So, Stockholm (SWE) 1912, comprised the contemporary sports of pistol shooting, fencing, swimming, horse riding and running.

Later, the pistol shooting was turned into laser gun shooting. It is all divided differently.

1. Modern Pentathlon

The flagship sport of UIPM, combining five disciplines:

Fencing (épée)

Swimming (200m freestyle)

Obstacle course racing (recently replaced horse riding)

Laser-run (a combined event of running + laser shooting)

2. Obstacle Laser Run

A newer format blending:

Obstacle course racing

Laser-run (running + shooting)

3. Laser Run

A standalone sport combining:

Running

Laser shooting

4. Biathle

Consists of:

Running

Swimming

5. Triathle

A mix of:

Running

Swimming

Laser shooting

I actually am a Triathlon athlete and I have won three national and one international medals in laser-run.
