The path we don’t see
They pointed to a shining road
And said, “Walk here, my dear.”
“Be a doctor, be an engineer
Your future is safe, your path is clear.”
But my heartbeat whispered different songs,
Songs only my soul could hear.
I tried to fit their chosen mold,
To walk the line so straight and bold,
But dreams inside me softly cried,
Like birds with wings they could not unfold.
What of the painter with colors in veins,
Who sees sunlight even in the rain?
What of the dancer who speaks through motion,
Pouring her heart like a wild ocean?
What of the singer who aches to be heard,
Shaping emotions in every word?
What of the poet who bleeds on a page,
Turning quiet sorrow into burning sage?
They never spoke of those tender roads,
The hidden paths where passion flows,
Where fire meets fate, and courage grows,
Where not all glory is bought in gold.
They taught us formulas, dates, and rules,
But never how to live as fools
Fools who dare to chase a dream,
To swim against the strongest stream.
Not every hero wears a coat,
Not every genius writes a note,
Not every life must look the same,
Not every spark becomes a flame
Unless we breathe, and feed its fire,
With stubborn hope and raw desire.
There are dreamers behind the curtain,
With futures vast and skies uncertain,
Actors who speak truth through lies,
Painters who see worlds in eyes,
Chefs who heal with bowls and bread,
Writers who revive the dead,
Athletes racing destiny,
Singers setting spirits free.
So if the world won’t clap for you,
Then clap for your own heartbeat.
Walk barefoot on your silent path,
Even if it burns your feet.
For someday, on that lonely road,
Your tears will turn to victory sweetly.
Hold your dream—don’t let it drown,
Even when the world looks down.
Stars shine brightest in the night,
Shadows exist because of light.
The greatest journeys ever known
Were taken first by those alone,
Who dared to say, “I won’t be moved
My life is mine. I choose. I will prove.”
So let them talk, let them cheer,
Let them question, let them fear
You were not born to just agree,
You were born to be what you must be.
For life is wide, and dreams run free
And miracles live quietly
On paths the world may fail to see…
But those unseen paths are destiny.
