Deepawali is the festival of light. It is also known as Tihar and Yama Panchak. It is celebrated in the month of Kartik and it lasts for five days. The first day is known as the day of crows. On this day, crows are worshipped and people give food to them . The second day is known as Kukurpuja, the day of dogs. On this day , dogs are worshipped and people give delicious food to them and put garlands around their necks. Laxmi pooja falls on the third day. This is a very special day for Hindus. On this day people worship the goddess Laxmi. They make rangolis to welcome Laxmi Mata and light candles. They gather to play Deusi and Bhailo. They also play with crackers. On this day we also celebrate the day of the cows, in the morning we feed them delicious food and put garland around their neck. On the fourth day Newar people observe Mha pooja; it is the festival of self worship . The final day is the day of Bhai Tika. On this day brothers receive tika and sweets from their sisters. Sisters get gifts from brothers. I love Deepawali and it is my favourite festival.
