Hiking is an outdoor activity involving long distance walking in trails through the natural environment. On 20th February 2026, I along with my friends, and teachers went on a hike, organized by my school, to Bhundole from Pharping.

After an early lunch at school around 9:30am, we left the school for hiking at 10:00am. I was expecting a bus ride to Pharping, but to my surprise, our friend group ended up in a small micro van while others were taken by our school bus. I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable, but the bus could have been far better. After an hour of van riding on a dusty and bumpy road, we reached a scenic forest type of road which felt quite relaxing. After a while through the forest, we stopped at the base of a hill. We carried our bags and prepared for the long journey to the top of the hill where our picnic would be held.

We climbed the hill slowly at first. But in the middle of the journey, we got bored and started running. Then, at the halfway marking of the route, we stopped to take a little water break which felt relaxing after all the walking and running. Then we couldn’t run because we felt heavy after drinking all the water. We walked and walked for what felt like forever. After around thousands of steps, we reached a dried waterfall which only had rocks and was very steep. We took a moment there to enjoy the view then we continued the journey. After another many more steps, we finally reached the top of the hill. It felt like we reached heaven. It was so refreshing, beautiful and peaceful in the open landscape. It was quite surprising to see a big field on top of the hill where we enjoyed playing for a while. Then we sat for a picnic. We took our food and started to feast. We got all our energy back and started to play again. When the teachers finished eating, we ran down the hill and reached the parking place in under 15 minutes. Then we rested in our respective vehicles and rode back to school.

In conclusion the hike from Pharping to Bhundole was a memorable and enjoyable experience for me and I am hoping for another wonderful and fun trip like this next time as well.
