Mr. Meowly: The Stuffed Cat Who Definitely Runs My House

My stuffed cat’s name is Mr. Meowly, and I am pretty sure he is secretly alive. I know this because sometimes I leave him facing one direction, and when I come back, he is facing another direction. Either that, or gravity is working against me personally.

I first met Mr. Meowly on my bed, sitting there like a boss. He was fluffy, round, and staring at me with eyes that said, “Yes, this is my bed now.” I picked him up and said, “Your name is Mr. Meowly,” and he instantly accepted the name by doing absolutely nothing.

Mr. Meowly is an expert listener. I tell him everything about school, homework, teachers, and why tests exist, which is still a mystery. He never interrupts, never disagrees, and never says, “That is not how it works.” Sometimes I think he knows all the answers but refuses to help because he believes I must learn on my own. Very rude, but very wise.

At night, Mr. Meowly becomes a professional security guard. His job is to protect me from monsters, ghosts, and especially my imagination at two in the morning. I place him beside me like a tiny, fluffy shield. If a monster tried to enter my room, Mr. Meowly would stare at it so hard that it would feel awkward and leave.

During the day, Mr. Meowly is extremely busy doing important things, like being a superhero. His superhero name is Mr. Meowlni, and his powers include super fluffiness, unstoppable cuteness, and falling over dramatically when nothing touches him. He also solves mysteries like “Where did my pencil go?” and “Why is my snack already gone?” The answers are always shocking.

Mr. Meowly also has some bad habits. He never cleans his fur, never does homework, and sleeps all day like he pays rent. Still, he claims he is charging his powers. I believe him because he looks very serious while doing nothing.

One time, I had a terrible day. I came home sad and grumpy. Mr. Meowly was waiting on my bed, staring at me calmly like he already knew. I hugged him, and suddenly things felt better. It was like he said, “Life is hard, but you still have snacks.” That advice changed my life.

Mr. Meowly has been with me through everything; happy days, boring days, and days when I forget why I walked into a room. He has never left my side, mostly because he cannot walk. In the end, Mr. Meowly is not just a stuffed cat. He is a hero, a bodyguard, a therapist, and a professional napper. He may be made of stuffing, but he is full of personality. I am lucky to have Mr. Meowly, even if he secretly judges me while sitting on my bed forever.
