Mount Everest
Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Its height is 8848meters. It lies in Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa from Nepal and Edmund Hillary from New Zealand climbed Mount Everest on 29 May 1953 for the first time. Pasang Lhamu Sherpa was the first Nepalese woman to climb Mount Everet. Junko Tabei from Japan was the first woman to climb Mount Everest. This Mountain is named after George Everest. Nepal’s late historian Baburam Acharya gave Nepalese name Sagarmatha to this mountain.
