The Slave
The Slave
Oh, look, all around us are slaves,
All of them claim to be free but aren’t
All of them are enslaved by something
Something they might not even be aware of.
Some are enslaved by other people
While some are enslaved by society,
That stops them from being what they want to be
That restricts them from doing what they like.
If you don't trust my words
Just tell me when you do as you wish
You were the one who buried one's dreams
In fear of the opinion of others.
We might not be the old slave
Who had to work without getting a penny
But we are something far worse
We are the ones who sacrifice our dreams
Just for the acceptance of society.
Tell me how we aren't slaves.
If we are caged and prohibited
From doing as we like,
We fear what others might think.
