June: Pride Month

June is the month celebrated as pride month,honoring the LGBTQIA+ community regarding their history, struggles and achievements. It started being celebrated after the Stonewall uprising in 1969, it was a big event in the fight for LGBTQ rights. People around the world joined parades,festivals and events to promote equality and acceptance. In this month there are pride parades,films regarding the community and many more. In Nepal during this month there's a pride parade in Kathmandu and on the second Saturday of June there's a pride exhibition hosted by Gehendra Dhimal foundation and other events. This was the month the community fought for their rights and now they take this month as a celebration in gaining their rights. The month serves to increase awareness, promote visibility, foster community and solidarity, and advocate for the rights and equality of LGBTQ+ people worldwide.
