My Favourite Sport

My favourite sport is football. I like football because it has many tactics and

strategies. Football is also known to be the world's best sport. There are also some

legendary players like Ronaldo, Pele , Maradona, Messi etc. In football there are

eleven players on the ground from each team including the goalkeeper. So in total

22 players are on the pitch fighting for the ball to score a goal. Each player has

their own unique position from where they play like there is striker, left or right

winger, mid fielder, and defender. Each player according to their position play for

the ball and pass to the front person or striker for a goal. The defender is there to

defend the ball if the player from another team is about to score the goal. Aside

from these key players there are coaches who train and guide the team to play

football. Also there are referees who are present in the match who keep the

game running, point out fouls like give yellow cards or red cars, see the offside

rule, view the VAR and run along with the players to keep everything in check.

There are famous football leagues and games which are watched by people all

around the world. There is Fifa World Cup which occurs once in 4 years, there is

Euro cup where Europe countries play once in four years, where they play to win,

there are leagues like English Premier League, La Liga, Champions League etc

which occur every year where football clubs play to compete and win. My favourite country to support during the World Cup is Portugal and my favourite football club is Real Madrid.
