Nepal is a small country but it has great cultural, historical and geographical significance. It lies between two powerful countries; India and China. It is rich in natural beauty and resources but it is gradually deteriorating due to various affecting factors.

One of the major factors affecting the development of the country is; unhealthy education system of Nepal. The basic foundation for development is considered to be the educated and skilled manpower which is produced by an education system. But our education system has failed to produce an educated and skilled manpower which is directly affecting the development of the country. Some of the major causes of unhealthy education system of Nepal are:

Lack of sufficient and appropriate infrastructure.

Politics in education.

Socio-cultural barriers.

Poverty.

Superstition and lack of awareness.

Improper use of allocated budget.

Psychological, mental and physical school violence etc.

The government should seriously look into this matter and apply proper measures to end this problem. Then only, the country would develop. More budgets should be allocated for education. Especially in the remote areas along with free education, resources also should be given free of cost so that it would be easy for the poor people who are not sending their children to school just because they don’t have money to buy books and copies.
