Safety and Dignity for Women

When we think of the word woman, the first image that often comes to mind is simply a female capable of giving birth. But is that really all? Absolutely not. The word carries immense depth, with her potential and wonder being as endless as a flowing stream. Even in today's world, women are too often confined by societal expectations, leaving them with little room to voice their opinions or make their own decisions. Yet, women possess incredible strength and a spirit defined by genuine selflessness.

A woman is capable of nurturing life, carrying forward generations, standing strong through hardship, and discovering her own identity even when society overlooks her true worth. That is the true essence of a woman. She can smile through immense personal sacrifices. Consider a mother: she is the one who willingly endures physical pain and hardship just to bring you into the world, offering unconditional love and support without expecting anything in return.

Despite all this, women are still discouraged from expressing their true thoughts and pursuing their dreams. Tragically, one in three women globally has experienced physical or sexual violence. This raises a fundamental question: why are we still underestimating women? We speak of worshipping women in theory, yet in practice, people continue to question their capabilities and discount their sacrifices. Isn't being human enough to deserve respect and dignity?

The root causes behind the rise in violence against women and their objectification are victim-blaming and the protection of perpetrators. It is heartbreaking that many still believe being out at night or wearing certain clothing justifies or causes harm. Are people truly so incapable of self-control that the line between basic humanity, respect, and physical impulse blurs simply because of temptation? If a temporary impulse can lead to such harm, why are women the ones forced to justify their desire to live with freedom and self-esteem? When news of an assault breaks, the immediate reaction is too often to question the victim’s choices rather than holding the criminal accountable.

Parents must focus on teaching their sons about consent, boundaries, and respecting others, rather than restricting their daughters from living freely. The real issue lies in deeply ingrained cultural attitudes. Real progress begins with shifting our collective mindset, because only a change in our perspective can build a safer and more just world for women.
