My Visit to Illam

Last year, I visited Illam with my family. My father had planned the trip when he came to Nepal. We were very happy because we were meeting each other after many years.

We started our journey from Kanakot, my own village, which lies in Dhunibesi-9, Dhading, at 5:30 p.m. We caught a bus from there and enjoyed the journey a lot. The bus stopped at Dharke, where we ate chatpate. After a few hours, the bus stopped again for dinner. We had our dinner in Hetauda, but it was not very good. We could smell the bad odour of stale curry. Later, we slept on the bus.

The next morning, we reached the Terai region. I saw the flat land there, which was a new experience for me. Finally, at around 11:30 a.m., we reached Illam. We changed our clothes and freshened up. After having lunch, we headed towards Kanyam.

Kanyam was very beautiful, with its huge tea gardens. I saw beautiful scenery covered with rows of tea plants. We wore traditional clothes and took many pictures to capture the beautiful memories of our trip. It was a wonderful experience, and I will always remember the journey to Illam with my family.
