The Yanomami Tribe
The Yanomami Tribe
The Yanomami tribe lives in dense tropical rainforests. They dance, celebrate festivals, and enjoy spending time together. In the tribe, men usually go hunting, while women stay at home and do important household work.
The Yanomami people eat foods such as boars, tapirs, monkeys, birds, nuts, honey, and seeds. They live in large circular houses called shabanos, where about 50 to 400 people can live together.
The Yanomami people see modern humans as a threat because they believe people cut down forests for mining and farming. This causes deforestation and destroys their land. In the tribe, women wear large golden rings around their necks, and women with longer necks are considered beautiful.
Because of deforestation and poaching, the Yanomami tribe may lose their homes and food sources. We should protect rainforests so that tribes like the Yanomami can live safely and keep their traditions.
