We can say ‘strike’ means the temporary suspension of work .Strikes are very frequent in Nepal. We have been habituated to it. The strikes are launched with several purposes Like, a large number of people work in factories ,Industries , institutions ,other places of trade etc. Almost all of them are involved in any political party directly or indirectly. If the workers feel that they have been discriminated or neglected by the authorized concerned ,they call out for strike for the fulfillment of their demand. It hampers all the people of the country in their work. People are compelled to stay in their own houses instead of going to their workplaces. It goes back instead of going ahead . Sometimes, people declare strikes even on petty issues.

It has now been the usual way to show any opposing view or placing demand before the government. It has generally hampered the daily activities of common people of the country. There are many disadvantages of strikes. It hampers the development of the country ,It leads to rise in the prices of the products . When things become expensive, common people can't buy or forcefully have to buy at high prices. It decreases their living standard. They have to pay more for the goods they have to buy. Common people can't do any kind of business either. These bring adverse effects on their regular income. Farmers can't sell their products in the market at the time of the strike. The public suffered a lot. Trade and industries are hit by strike ,school and colleges are also affected. Students cannot go to their institution for their studies. It badly affects their studies. Tourists can't give any interest to visit the countries where the strike is frequent. Strikes cause a great loss to the people and the nation as well. The nation can't progress. It is good to struggle for the right and freedom but there are different ways of achieving their demands fulfilled .It is not necessary to call a strike. The authority concerned should listen and address their proper demands without compelling them to call strike. There should be serious table talk between the workers and the employers to solve the problems. The employers should always be positive to the workers’ rights demand .There should be a good relationship between Not only this, political parties should not provoke the organizations for the strike. The government should be attentive towards the problems of the common people. The reasonable demands should be fulfilled as soon as possible. In conclusion, everyone should adopt alternative methods to raise their voice regarding any issue instead of launching strikes all the time.
