My Trip To Australia
I went to Australia three years ago and stayed there for about four to five months. During my stay, I visited many famous places and made lots of wonderful memories. It was an exciting experience that I will never forget.
My journey to Australia was not easy. First, I had to travel to Kathmandu to catch my international flight. After packing our bags and getting everything ready, we finally began our journey. Since the flight was very long, we had to stop in Thailand before continuing to Australia. On the airplane, there were many things to keep us comfortable, such as a television, a tray, and a cup holder. Halfway through the flight, we were served a meal consisting of rice with chicken, Sprite, and some dessert. The food was delicious. After some time, the plane began to descend, and we landed in Thailand.
After getting off the plane, we went to another terminal to catch our flight to Australia. The second flight was quite similar to the first one, so not much happened during the journey. Finally, we landed in Sydney at around 1:00 a.m. We collected our luggage and went to my aunt’s house. My aunt had been living in Australia for four years. Since it was very late, I went straight to sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, I was surprised by the warm weather and the beautiful surroundings. I could hear birds chirping, and I noticed how friendly the people seemed. After waking up, we had pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast and then went out to explore Sydney.
I soon learned that travelling around Sydney required a special card called an Opal card. It is used to pay for public transportation. You simply tap the card on a scanner when entering or leaving a train station or using public transport. Our first destination was the famous Bondi Beach. I had a great time there. I made sandcastles, dug holes in the sand and enjoyed playing on the beach. However, something unexpected happened that day. I was stung by a jellyfish. Fortunately, I was not seriously injured and did not have to go to the hospital.
After visiting Bondi Beach, we went to the famous Sydney Opera House. I was amazed by its unique design and beautiful surroundings. After spending some time there, we returned home and I went to bed.
The next day, we went to a shopping mall and bought some groceries. Later, my aunt moved to another house and we went with her. Unfortunately, we had to live without Wi-Fi for almost two weeks. At first, I thought I would be very bored but there was a park near our new house. I spent time there and enjoyed playing and exploring the area. After two weeks, we finally got our Wi-Fi connection back. I was very happy because I could call my friends and family in Nepal and talk to them about my experiences.
One of the most exciting days was when we visited a famous zoo. We took a train to Circular Quay and then travelled by ferry. During the journey, I enjoyed looking at the beautiful views of Sydney from the water. At the zoo, I saw many different animals, including monkeys, tigers, seals and penguins. I also bought a small seal plushie which I thought was very cute. It became one of my favourite souvenirs from Australia.
As the New Year approached, it was finally time for us to return to Nepal. We quickly booked our flight and prepared for our journey home. Although I was excited to see my friends and family again, I was also sad to leave Australia. After returning to Nepal, I met my friends and family and happily told them all about my trip and the wonderful experiences I had there.
In conclusion, my four months in Australia were unforgettable. Whether I was watching movies high up in an airplane, travelling by ferry, exploring famous places or playing on the beach, I experienced many new and exciting things. The trip taught me a lot about a different country and gave me memories that I will always remember. When it was finally time to return to Nepal for the New Year, I realized how much I would miss Australia. Going back to school was exciting because I had brought home the best souvenir of all, a heart full of amazing memories.
