My Visit At Janakpur

Last week, I visited Janakpur, one of the most famous and religious cities of Nepal. Janakpur is known as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, and it is a place full of history, culture, and belief. I went there with my family, and the journey itself was very enjoyable. The main attraction of Janakpur is the Janaki Mandir. The temple is very beautiful and made of white marble looks like singamarmar. The walls of the temple and even the restaurant are fully decorated with Mithila art. When I entered the temple, I felt peace and happiness. Many worshippers from different places had come to worship, and the atmosphere was calm and spiritual. We also visited Dhanusha Dham and other small temples around the city. Janakpur is also famous for its ponds. These ponds looked very clean and peaceful. In the evening, we enjoyed walking around the city and watching the local lifestyle. We saw trains and railway tracks around the city, too. The people of Janakpur were friendly and helpful. During my visit, I tasted local foods and sweets, which were very delicious.

I also had the opportunity to closely observe the National Assembly (Rastriya Sabha) election held in Madhesh Province on Magh 11, 2082. The voting took place at the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Building in Janakpur, where Provincial Assembly members, Mayors and Deputy Mayors of municipalities, and Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of rural municipalities from the eight districts of Madhesh Province cast their votes. The weightage of a Provincial Assembly member's vote is 21 points, while the vote weightage for Mayors, Deputy Mayors, andChairpersons/Vice-Chairpersons of local levels is 19 points.

The candidate who secures the highest vote weightage is declared the winner.

Finally, I visited Jaleshwar Mahadev Temple in Jaleshwor and returned back to Kathmandu.
